Refreshing Broccoli Smoothie with Mango Ingredients
For this recipe you will need a few simple ingredients:
- Broccoli florets- Get your green florets ready! You can use raw, steamed or frozen broccoli.
- Plain greek yogurt- This provides protein, I used plain 2% however full fat or flavored greek yogurt is delicious as well.
- Spinach – Vibrant leafy greens boost your brain health along with lowering your risk for high blood pressure and heart disease. Kale leaves will also taste delicious in this easy broccoli smoothie.
- Frozen unsweetened mango chunks- It’s packed vitamins C and A and is loaded with dietary fiber. Mango is one of my favorite fruits and it helps with the flavor. Other frozen ingredients can be used as well such as strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, apple, banana or papaya.
- Date syrup- Date syrup is an additional sweetener for this magic broccoli smoothie. It contains more calcium, magnesium and potassium than raw honey. And it helps stabilize your blood sugar. Other alternatives is actual dates(pitted), honey and steamed sweet potatoes. For a tropical flavor, use a very ripe and sweet banana or pineapple juice.
- Water- I know I listed out all these fabulous ingredients for this healthy broccoli smoothie recipe and I end it with plain old water. LOL! Coconut water would be refreshing. Plant-based milk like unsweetened almond milk, soy, coconut, hemp, oat milk or rice milk will good as well.
- Optional ingredients- hemp seeds or a handful of chia seeds will provide extra nutrition.
Other variations of veggie smoothies can be adding in healthy fats such as almond butter or avocado.
