Welcome! My name is Kristina and I’m so grateful you’re here!
Hello from the beautiful (and not always rainy) Seattle! 😜 I’m Kristina, and I’m so happy you’re here.
Cooking has always been an important part of my life. That personal passion grew into what is now When Salty and Sweet Unite.
How I cook and my relationship with food has always been a part of my personal health journey. (you can read my full story here). Many years ago I lost 90 pounds naturally. My recipes reflect that- I use real ingredients and create meals that are balanced and flavorful.
In my spare time, I love doing hot yoga, walking my Labradoodle named Luna, exploring new neighborhoods and cities, and spending quality time with my family (while, of course, enjoying delicious food!).Â
How it all started:
My love for cooking began way back in 8th grade during a home economics class, where I made my first dish: an omelette. I don’t remember all the ingredients, but I do remember the feeling of creating something with my own hands. From that moment, I was hooked! Even though my mom was convinced I’d burn down the house (cue the constant stove checks 😆), my passion for cooking grew from there.
How it’s going:
Fast forward to today: I graduated from Culinary School at the Art Institute of Seattle, I own a double oven (every meal prepper’s dream), and I’ve spent the last couple of years diving deep into food photography and starting my business. This blog is a reflection of my journey—both in the kitchen and in life.
