Ingredients

- Frozen strawberries. If in season, you can use fresh strawberries but add in ice cubes for texture and temperature.
- Raw kale. It has a mild taste once it’s blended. Feel free to use more or less of it. I suggest bagged kale that is already chopped.
- Banana. Banana’s are good in everything especially in my High Protein Acai Bowl. Overripe bananas are the best. This will work as a natural sweetener.
- Coconut water. Use one that doesn’t have sugar added. I really like Kirkland Brand as it’s high quality and a great price.
- Vegan protein powder. I like to use a vanilla protein powder that is plant based from the brand Truvani.
How to make this Strawberry Banana Smoothie Without Yogurt

Step One: Using a nutri blender or a regular high powered blender, place in the frozen strawberries, kale and banana. Add the protein powder.
Step Two: Pour in the coconut water and blend for about 30-45 seconds until well combined. Pour into a tall glass and enjoy immediately.
Helpful tips
- You can make a smoothie pack ahead of time and have it ready to go . All you need to do is place a banana, kale and sweet strawberries (or any fresh fruit) into a freezer safe ziplock bag and freeze it. When you are ready to make it, just pull it out the freezer and add in the coconut water and protein powder to the blender. This is a great way to have a healthy smoothie in no time!
- From recipe testing this and some of my other smoothie recipes, I noticed that if I add a whole scoop of protein, even if it is a high quality brand, I still notice a bit of grittiness. Adding a whole scoop of protein is optional but I find a hefty tablespoon of it to be the sweet spot.
