My mom used to make this for my daughter when she was younger but she used non-fat milk or 2% plus she would throw in extra banana. This strawberry banana smoothie without yogurt recipe uses unsweetened vanilla almond milk and only one large ripe banana.

Ingredients you’ll need

- Frozen strawberries. If in season, you can use fresh strawberries but add in ice cubes for texture and temperature.
- Banana. Banana’s are good in everything especially in my High Protein Acai Bowl. Frozen bananas or overly ripe bananas are the best.
- Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk. Any type of milk works here- either regular milk or plant based milks.

Helpful tips
- Prep this ahead of time for busy mornings. Add sliced banana and strawberries (or any fresh fruit) into a freezer safe ziplock bag and freeze it. When you are ready to make it, just pull it out the freezer and add in your milk of choice and you’re set. This is a great way to have a healthy smoothie in no time!
- Use ripe bananas for the best flavor.
- If using fresh strawberries, add ice cubes to keep it cold.
- I recipe tested this with coconut water and it tastes great too if you don’t want to use any type of milk.
Serving suggestions
This smoothie is easy to customize with what you have on hand.
- Change up milks. Try it with other non-dairy milks such as oat milk, coconut milk, or regular almond milk. Each one will change the flavor and texture slightly.
- Add something green. Spinach, kale and even broccoli tastes good.
- Swap out the fruits. Switch up the berries such as raspberries or blueberries or try something new such as mango or peaches.
- Boost the nutrition: This recipe for strawberry banana smoothie without yogurt is even better with some add-ins like chia seeds, frozen cauliflower or flax seeds for more fiber. Boost protein with protein powder or nut butters like peanut butter or almond butter – just like in my Kale Berry Smoothie .
