French Toast Kebabs
These French Toast Kebabs are the perfect addition to your brunch table. All you need are a few simple ingredients– Hawaiian bread, milk, eggs and cinnamon for the french toast and complete with juicy strawberries. They’re great for brunch boards, Valentine’s Day, Easter or anytime.

When I was creating this recipe, I knew my son would go crazy over them. And of course when he saw them his eyes lit up! You can make this into a kid friendly project with the assembly of the kebabs.

Why this recipe works
- Just like my French Toast Without Vanilla- this recipe doesn’t use vanilla extract either.
- Similar to my Stuffed Whole Wheat French Toast, Overnight Brioche French Toast Casserole, Raspberry Pancakes, Ube Mochi Waffles, Fruity Pebbles Waffles, Fruit Loop Mochi Waffles and my Matcha Waffles, these French Toast Kebabs are great for the whole family for breakfast , brunch or just as a fun treat.
- Make these seasonally. Mix up the fruits with berries, bananas or satsuma oranges.
Ingredients you’ll need

- Hawaiian bread. I tested the recipe a few times using Franz Hawaiian Bread.
- Eggs.
- Milk. Whole milk or 2% works
- Sugar.
- Strawberries. Look for a smaller size if possible, they do better on the skewer.
- Butter.
- Cinnamon. (optional)
- Optional toppings: Powdered sugar and maple syrup.
How to make French Toast Kebabs
Step One: In a shallow dish, mix the eggs, milk, sugar and cinnamon.
Step Two: On a griddle or non-stick pan, ½-1 tbsp of the butter over medium/low heat. One slice at a time, dip the bread into the egg mixture, ensuring it is coated on both sides. Cook the slice until golden and then flip and cook the other side. Place on a wire rack to cool and repeat with remaining slices.

Step Three: Ensuring the slices are cooled down, cut the bread lengthwise in half , stack and then cut one more time down the middle.
Step Four: For the strawberries, you can cut off the green tops or turn them into heart shapes by cutting a V on the top of the strawberry.

Step Five: Assemble the kebabs by placing one strawberry, the 4 cubes of french toast, one strawberry, another 4 cubes and then one strawberry. Each skewer should have 3 strawberries and 8 cubes of french toast. Garnish with powdered sugar if desired.
Storing and reheating
Store the french toast separately in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days. Reheat in the microwave for 30-45 seconds without the strawberries.

Helpful tips for French Toast Kebabs
- Use a cooling rack for the french toast. This will prevent it from getting soggy. If you stack it on a plate, the steam will get trapped.
- Try to look for smaller strawberries.
- Cut off the green tops of the strawberries or cut the top into a V to make them look like hearts.
- Pat the strawberries with a damp paper towel to avoid excess moisture.
- Serving size is 16 skewers (One slice of bread makes 2 skewers)
Serving suggestions
Serve these French Toast Skewers with powdered sugar, maple syrup, extra butter or plain. Pair with other breakfast favorites like Ground Turkey Shakshuka, Shrimp Shakshuka, Zucchini Crustless Quiche and Spanish Tortilla with Mexican Chorizo.
