Simple Baked Turmeric Salmon
Turmeric Salmon is the perfect easy weeknight meal. Loaded with nutrients and flavor, this salmon will be on your table in less than 30 minutes. Pair it with side dish favorites like Cumin Sweet Potatoes, Roasted Carrots and Brussels Sprouts or Rosemary Sweet Potato Mash for a complete meal. This tender and flaky salmon only takes a few simple ingredients. Turmeric and salmon create a bold flavor, especially with the fresh garlic. Let’s get started!

Salmon is such a versatile fish. You can bake it, grill it, air fry or even pan sear. Either way it’s always delicious and ready in minutes. I like to get my salmon pre-cut already which speeds up prep and cooking time.
Why you’ll love this Turmeric Fish Recipe
- Turmeric on salmon boosts the anti-inflammatory properties and brings a warm and delicate flavor to the fish.
- Just like my Rosemary Salmon, Za’atar Salmon and Lemon and Dill Salmon, this dish cooks up quickly and is perfect for meal prep!
- This roasted turmeric fish recipe stays moist and tender.
Ingredients you’ll need

- Atlantic Salmon.
- Extra virgin olive oil.
- Ground turmeric.
- Paprika.
- Kosher salt.
- Fresh garlic.
How to make Turmeric Salmon
Step One: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper.
Step Two: Filet the salmon into 3-4 equal parts (depending on size of your salmon). Place the salmon onto the baking sheet.
Step Three: Add the turmeric and paprika mixture, then press the chopped garlic into the salmon. Add a dash of kosher salt and then drizzle the olive oil over the top. Massage the garlic, spices and oil into the salmon.

Step Four: Place in the salmon in the oven for about 15 or until the fish is opaque. Serve and drizzle the olive oil drippings over the top for extra flavor.
Storing and reheating
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the microwave, covered for 1-2 minutes.

Helpful tips for Salmon and Turmeric
- Cut into fillets or keep whole when baking.
- For a crunchy texture, pan sear the salmon for about 4 minutes each depending on thickness.
- Use gloves while rubbing the turmeric and paprika into the salmon. Turmeric will turn your fingers yellow.
- Do not overcook the salmon as this will cause it to dry out.
- If using a thin cut of salmon like sockeye, adjust the cook time since it will cook faster than Atlantic.
Serving suggestions
- Pair turmeric salmon with simple quinoa or brown rice, Whole30 Mashed Potatoes or Root Vegetable Mash.
- Serve alongside Rosemary Carrots, Cauliflower Tabbouleh or my Japanese Sweet Potato Salad for a lower carb meal.
- Add it to a wrap or bowl like my Salmon Quinoa Bowl and drizzle with Lemon Basil Sauce.
