Avocado Cottage Cheese Dip
My Avocado Cottage Cheese Dip is both effortless to make and refreshing. Made with low fat cottage cheese, fresh cilantro, lemon juice and creamy avocado, this dip is a must try. A homemade dip will make store bought dips a thing of the past. This Avocado and Cottage Cheese Dip recipe is adapted from my Harissa Cottage Cheese Dip.

I remember the days when cottage cheese was served with a side of pineapple or fruit cocktail in my school lunch- and I ate up every bite! These days I use cottage cheese in lasagna or in dishes like my High Protein Baked Ziti. But having it in a dip is pure genius!

Why this recipe works
- Just like my Harissa Cottage Cheese Dip, this dip is high in protein and easy to make.
- It goes perfectly with crisp veggies or you can even spread it onto a Turkey Basil Burger, add some to Gluten Free Shrimp Tacos or use it on my Za’atar Fries or Whole30 Carne Asada Fries.
- All dip with no guilt. Unlike store bought sour cream based dips, this one offers protein and healthy fats.
Ingredients you’ll need for this cottage cheese dip

- Cottage cheese. 2% works great.
- Lemon juice. Limes work too- I chose lemon because I always have an abundant supply of them.
- Extra virgin olive oil.
- Avocado. A ripe avocado is best. Medium size or large will work.
- Cilantro.
- Garlic powder.
- Kosher salt.
How to make Avocado Cottage Cheese Dip
Step One: Place all of the ingredients into a food processor.
Step Two: Blend until smooth -about 2 minutes.

Step Three: Adjust the salt if needed. Transfer it into a container and place it in the fridge for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
Step Four: Serve with your favorite veggies or pita bread.
Storing
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.

Helpful tips
- Use ripe avocados: Soft avocados will give the best texture.
- Adjust the acidity: Start out with half of the lemon juice and add more if you prefer.
- Make ahead: This will give the flavors time to settle in.
- Experiment with flavor: Try adding a touch of cumin or other herbs like basil, dill or parsley.
