Ground Turkey Lasagna
Comfort food never tasted better with my Ground Turkey Lasagna. With layers of noodles, seasoned turkey, cottage cheese and creamy mozzarella, this meal is a must for your dinner table. Similar to my Zucchini Lasagna and my High Protein Baked Ziti, this lasagna uses simple ingredients and is kid and meal prep friendly.

Ingredients you’ll need

- Extra virgin olive oil.
- Ground turkey.Use 93/7 or 85/15 for best flavor.
- White onion.
- Garlic cloves. I love me some garlic and I use between 3-5 cloves. Adjust to your liking.
- Salt and pepper.
- Italian seasoning. Basic Italian seasoning works or you can jazz it up a little more with my Zesty Italian Seasoning.
- Marinara sauce. Use a high- quality, no additional sugar added one.
- Lasagna noodles.
- Mozzarella cheese.
- Shaved parmesan.
- Cottage cheese. This gives the ground turkey lasagna an extra protein boost.
- Parsley. Optional garnish.
How to make Ground Turkey Lasagna
Step One: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.
Step Two: In a large pan over medium low heat, add the olive oil and add the ground turkey . Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2 minutes then add the garlic and onions. Continue to cook for 10-12 minutes or until the meat brown and no longer pink.
Step Three: Pour in the sauce and add the italian seasoning. Let the sauce simmer on low for 15 minutes.

Step Four: In a large 13×9 rectangle baking dish, add a thin layer of the sauce to the bottom of the dish. Place 3 noodles side by side over the sauce. Add another layer of the meat sauce, then add a layer of the cottage cheese and sprinkle mozzarella. Repeat the layer one more time. For the final layer, add the remaining mozzarella and parmesan.

Step Five: Cover with foil and bake in the oven for about 25 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the sauce is bubbly. Remove when done and let it sit for 5 minutes. Serve immediately.
Storing and freezing instructions
Cover the baking dish with foil or a lid or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes.
To freeze the lasagna whole, assemble the lasagna as instructed but don’t bake it. Use a baking dish with an airtight lid or use the foil pans with lids. Store in the freezer for up to 3 months. To heat and bake, thaw overnight in the fridge and bake at 375 for about 45 minutes. To freeze individual pieces, bake and let cool. Cut into pieces and store in a freezer safe container.
